Netflix has signed another deal with a big YouTuber: Drew Binsky, the globetrotting YouTube star with millions of online fans, is bringing his unique travelogues to Netflix’s worldwide audience.
\n\nBeginning Sept. 19, Netflix subscribers can watch a curated collection of episodes from Binsky’s content library, including his latest episode “Entering The World’s Narrowest Island (100 Feet Wide).” Going forward, Binsky will release new episodes day-and-date on Netflix alongside YouTube and other platforms.
\n\nBinsky launched his YouTube channel in 2017 and now counts more than 7.3 million subscribers. Across all online platforms, he has 22 million followers.
\n\nHe’s the latest YouTube creator to come into the Netflix fold — undoubtedly to the consternation of YouTube, which wants its homegrown superstars to maintain YouTube as their primary platform. Netflix recently signed a similar content deal with YouTube comedy creator Kevin Langue, the self-described “world’s best guesser,” and has ordered original shows from YouTubers including Mark Rober and Alan Chikin Chow.
