\n\nSwarmed by Capitol Hill reporters on the last day of the Senate session before she faces the most difficult election of her 30-year career, Collins, R-Maine, had a question of her own: “Are you going to ask me about the Tick Act that was just signed into law by the president? My bill? It’s very important.”
\n\n“So, ticks are a major problem in the state of Maine. We’ve had a huge increase in the number of cases of Lyme disease,” she said. “It funds or authorizes centers of excellence to help with education, prevention and early diagnosis, which are critical to tick-related illnesses.”
