Clancy, who killed her three young children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months — at their Massachusetts home in January 2023, is charged with first-degree murder.
\n\nThe severity of Clancy's suicide attempt is a main point of Reddington's closing argument, pushing back on prior statements from the prosecution that appeared to undermine the seriousness of the attempt.
\n\n"We spent all that time showing through … testimony that this was a legitimate, dreadful, horrific suicide attempt," Reddington said. "You think about this beautiful young girl throwing herself out a window."
\n\nHe pushed the jury to "remember that" Clancy tried to kill herself.
\n\nWhile outlining the details of Clancy's suicide attempt, Reddington slapped a quarter on the table and addressed the prosecutors in what appeared to be a direct challenge to the state.
\n\n"That's a quarter — I don't know if you play pool," he said before saying he challenged proseuctors to explain a weeklong testimony on Clancy's suicide to the jury.
\n\nThe judge reminded Reddington who he was supposed to be speaking to.
