New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte, a Republican, will face off against Democrat Cinde Warmington in November’s general election, NBC News projects, as she seeks another two-year term.

\n\n

Ayotte did not face any major challenges in the GOP primary; Warmington ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.

\n\n

New Hampshire is one of two states — Vermont is the other — where Republican governors are up for re-election after then-Vice President Kamala Harris won the state in 2024.

\n\n

Trump moved yesterday to sharply escalate the trade war with Canada, seeking to block imports of some motorcycles, dairy products and alcohol.
