\n\nRhode Island Gov. Dan McKee has lost his Democratic primary to former CVS executive Helena Foulkes, NBC News projects, after facing a significant spending disadvantage and voter discontent with his tenure.
\n\nIn an election season that has seen a wave of anti-incumbent energy, McKee becomes the first governor to fall in a primary this year — and the first in eight years.
\n\nPolls closed at 8 p.m. ET in Rhode Island, and the votes are rolling in. Foulkes has opened up a lead over McKee in the initial results.
\n\nAttorney General Todd Blanche took the stage for his address at the Republicans’ midterm convention today to loud cheers. Notably, he was listed on screen as a “former federal prosecutor.” Traditionally, a sitting attorney general would not deliver an explicitly political speech in a setting such as a party convention.
\n\nSen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., spoke to the crowd at the GOP midterm convention through a video recording this evening, praising his Republican colleague, Sen. Dave McCormick.
