Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee lost his Democratic primary to former CVS executive Helena Foulkes, the first time a governor has been defeated in a primary in eight years.

Trump claimed on Truth Social this morning that the GOP midterm convention in Dallas was "a major, sold out hit" even though there were hundreds of vacant seats in the arena.

\n\n

"It was really something, streaming all over the place, and really big numbers, despite going up against the NFL. The overall numbers beat the NFL. The Arena, which was really nice, beat its own attendance records," Trump said, adding, "There were thousands of people outside who couldn’t get in. Screens were provided."

\n\n

There were hundreds of empty seats, however, throughout the upper levels of the American Airlines Center, which seats about 19,000. Hundreds of state delegates were seated on the floor of the arena, with other guests in the general seating areas.

\n\n

The NFL's viewership numbers from last night are also not yet available.

\n\n
