Hollywood is living through “the friggin’ salad days,” as Ryan Reynolds puts it, after experiencing the biggest summer at the box office since COVID, thanks to blockbusters like “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey.” Last month, the “Deadpool” star personally congratulated the cast and crew of “The Odyssey” for surpassing “Deadpool & Wolverine” to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
\n\n“Obviously, [‘The Odyssey’] is an incredible, incredible movie. Christopher Nolan literally breathes the rarest air on Earth. He’s a singular filmmaker,” Reynolds told Variety at the “Mayday” premiere at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City on Tuesday night. “I mean, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, who’s clearly batting a thousand stars with Zendaya. I just love that people are going to the movie theaters. I don’t even care why or for what reason. Just go to the movie theaters. There’s no better shared experience.”
