One person has died and multiple others were injured after a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday that included two officers among the victims, officials said.

The Hennepin County Medical Center said it had seven patients, one of whom is deceased.

The city announced the shooting at around 5:10 p.m. local time on social media and said police were responding.

\n\n

“The Minneapolis Police Department is on the scene of a shooting in the area of 15 E Grant St. involving multiple victims, including two police officers,” the city said in its announcement.

\n\n

The Hennepin County Medical Center said it did not have conditions available for the injured patients.

\n\n

Aerial video from NBC affiliate KARE of Minneapolis showed a large police presence, including what appeared to be armored vehicles and SWAT-style officers.

\n\n

A witness told KARE that she was walking downstairs to the lobby of a building when she heard gunshots and saw “somebody that was down.”

\n\n

She said she “just left the building immediately, because I knew what was happening, so I didn’t want to be involved in that.”

\n\n
