Gymnast Jordan Chiles will attempt a return to the Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles, the gold medalist from the Paris Games announced Wednesday — with an assist from Michael Jordan.
\n\nJordan lent his voice as the narrator for Chiles’ announcement video on Instagram, in which she posted “LA 2028… WHY NOT?”
\n\nThe video features overhead shots of the Southern California coastline and Chiles at a beach.
\n\n“Why again? Because the dream is still there,” Jordan narrates. “Why continue? Because there’s still more to give.”
\n\nChiles, 25, is named after the NBA legend and is no stranger to Los Angeles, attending UCLA and competing for the Bruins’ gymnastics team, with whom she’s a four-time NCAA champion.
\n\nShe also won the team gold medal with the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Games. She infamously had an individual bronze medal at the competition stripped following a controversial ruling, which she’s still appealing.
\n\nChiles was part of America’s silver-winning team at the Tokyo Games in 2020. She turned heads at that competition when she stepped in for Simone Biles, who withdrew before the finals to focus on her mental health.
