Netflix has picked up two new standalone seasons of its long-running food series “Chef’s Table.” The streamer is set to unroll “Chef’s Table: Icons” and “Chef’s Table: Desserts,” and for the first time, creator David Gelb is also directing every episode of both seasons himself. It’s the first time he’s directed an entire run of “Chef’s Table” since the series first launched in 2015.
\n\nBoth seasons consist of four episodes; featured chefs will be announced at a later date. Production is currently underway on the series around the world.
\n\nIn the case of “Chef’s Table: Icons,” the logline notes that the season “turns its lens on the chefs who didn’t just run great restaurants — they built institutions. Each redefined dining for their place and time, transforming singular vision into something enduring: a destination, a movement, a standard others measure themselves against. This season explores what it takes to reach the summit of the culinary world — and the discipline, reinvention and sheer will required to stay there.”
