Iowa’s Senate candidates, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson and Democratic state Rep. Josh Turek, will face off in a debate tonight.
\n\nTrump said this afternoon that he could fire two of his top political advisers following a report that they did election consulting work in the Balkans in recent days even as Republicans fight to retain control of Congress in November.
\n\nThe New York Times reported that James Blair, who heads the Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc., and Chris LaCivita, a top adviser for the organization, spent a few days recently in Republika Srpska, a self-governing part of Bosnia and Herzegovina that is aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin, ahead of the territory's elections on Sunday.
\n\nThe Times report cited four people familiar with the advisers' travels who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the Balkan work. The report also said the pair were paid hundreds of thousands of dollars each for the consulting, citing two of the people familiar with the engagement.
