Andrew Bailey, who became “co-deputy director” of the FBI last September, is stepping aside, two people familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Kurt Olsen, an attorney involved with efforts to overturn the 2020 election results who had recently been involved in the Justice Department’s so-called grand conspiracy investigation targeting officials who investigated Trump, has resigned, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

\n\n

CBS had earlier reported Olsen’s departure.

\n\n

His departure follows the resignation of Joe diGenova, who told NBC News that “lanes got crossed” in the final days of the investigation.

\n\n

Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., tore into the White House’s new political ad promoting Trump, saying it’s not a public service announcement and shouldn’t be done with taxpayer money.
