President Donald Trump traveled to Baltimore to announce a $6.6 billion investment in a new submarine parts factory.
\n\nSen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Democrat Troy Jackson have finished their first debate as Mainers prepare to decide who they want to represent them in the Senate for the next six years.
\n\nThe pair will face off in three more debates over the next two weeks, with the next one scheduled for Thursday. They are scheduled to debate again on Oct. 13 and then Oct. 15.

\n\nRep. John James promised to cooperate with law enforcement while saying he didn’t think there was a need for an ICE presence in the state, putting some distance between himself and Trump’s hard-line immigration policies.
\n\n“We’re going to be cooperating with federal law enforcement as well as our communities. We’re going to make sure that we’re prioritizing violent offenders, and we’re going to make sure that we enforce the law,” said James, whom Trump has endorsed.
\n\n“I don’t believe we’re going to need ICE presence in the state of Michigan because we are going to be enforcing the law,” he added.
