\n\nThis week’s episode of “Lanterns” finally unmasks the Manhunter, who’s been at the heart of the mystery in Rushville throughout the season.
\n\nAs revealed at the end of Episode 4, the Manhunter is in fact Zoe Macon, played by Poorna Jagannathan. In an interview with Variety, Jagannathan said that she had no idea she was the Manhunter until she got the script for the fourth episode. “Everyone saw it coming except me!” she says with a laugh.
\n\n“Obviously, I’m grateful that they didn’t tell me initially, because in my audition I know I would have acted like a robot,” she says.
\n\nThe episode begins by delving into how the Manhunter holds so much sway over the people of Rushville. We see Sheriff Kerry (Kelly Macdonald) years before on the run from some gangsters to whom her father owed money. They track her to the Rushville diner, where Zoe is sitting in a booth by herself.
