Hulu is bringing back “Good American Family” for a second season, with the show taking on an anthology format.
\n\nThe second season will focus on the case of Lorena Bobbitt (now Gallo) and her husband, John Bobbitt. Series creator and executive producer Katie Robbins will return for Season 2, as will Season 1 star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo, though Pompeo is not expected to star in the second season.
\n\nThe logline for Season 2 describes it as “A limited series inspired by the ripped-from-the-headlines story of Lorena and John Bobbitt, a Virginia couple who incited a media circus that treated trauma as entertainment, launched a thousand dirty jokes, and ignited a gender war.”
\n\nThis will be the latest modern reexamination of the Bobbitts’ case. Gallo was featured in a 2019 docuseries released by Amazon titled “Lorena” and delved into the years of abuse she endured at the hands of her husband prior to the night when she cut off his penis.
