Georgia voters cast ballots today in a special election runoff to fill the congressional seat previously held by Democratic Rep. David Scott, who died in April.
\n\nOne dynamic I think we have seen this spring is the power of the Trump endorsement. Sometimes it seems particularly strong when it’s a negative endorsement, when it’s an "I want you to vote against this person."
\n\nI think there’s a little bit of that with how Trump has approached state Attorney General Gentner Drummond in Oklahoma's GOP gubernatorial runoff.
\n\nThe dynamics for this race, like South Carolina, will be a test of Trump’s clout. Trump has endorsed former state Sen. Mike Mazzei, and he has really doubled down on it during this runoff period. But I think that, unlike in South Carolina, where Trump didn't really handle Rep. Ralph Norman this way, we see Trump really going after Drummond in Oklahoma.
\n\nWe'll have to see if that works out in Mazzei's favor tonight.
