North Americans are dealing with the aftermath of three storms that battered the continent’s coasts this weekend.
\n\nHurricane Isaias made landfall Friday near Destin, Florida, as a Category 2 storm. It forced evacuations along the Florida Panhandle and in some areas of Alabama.
\n\nAt least four people were killed in the storm, including Jennifer Williams, whose family said she died when a tree fell into her home. Her husband, Joey, told NBC News that a tree hit their Pensacola home, crushing their family room and killing her instantly.
\n\nAt least one other person was killed due to a downed tree in Alabama. Another died of carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator running in his garage in Florida, and a fourth person was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Alabama, The Associated Press reported.
\n\nVideo from the storm showed intense winds tearing the roof off a hotel in Pensacola. It also sent a massive tree through a man’s house and into his bedroom. The man, Darryl Wellens, and his wife barely survived — he said they were inside the house when the tree fell.
