Veteran unscripted producer Rachel Tung has renewed her development deal with ABC and Hulu, Variety has learned exclusively.

Under the renewed deal, Tung will continue developing original unscripted programming for Disney and serve as showrunner on select projects for ABC and Hulu.

Tung, who was formerly a vice president of unscripted at Paramount, developed and served as showrunner & executive producer on the first season of the popular Hulu reality series “Love They Nader.” That show followed model and actress Brooks Nader and her sisters as they try to break into the modeling industry in New York. The show debuted in August 2025 and was renewed for a second season later that year with Tung exiting as showrunner.

Tung was also the showrunner and executive producer on the second season of food and travel docuseries “Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi.” The show was nominated for outstanding hosted nonfiction series or special at the 2023 Emmy Awards.

Tung was also responsible for producing hit shows like “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” and MTV’s “Deliciousness.” “Hell’s Kitchen” is preparing to enter its 25th season, while “Kitchen Nightmares” aired for seven seasons between 2007 and 2014 before Fox revived it for additional seasons beginning in 2023. “Deliciousness” served as a spinoff to the MTV series “Ridiculousness” and aired for three seasons at the basic cabler.

Tung has also produced in the true crime genre, including co-creating “Homicide Hunter” for Investigation Discovery. The show aired nine seasons beginning in 2011 and has become one of ID’s longest-running franchises, spawning the spinoff “Homicide Hunter: American Detective.”
