“Tulsa King” is heading to New York.
\n\nThe Sylvester Stallone series has been renewed for a fifth season at Paramount+ as the production migrates from Georgia to the Big Apple, coinciding with the Season 5 storyline. The renewal comes ahead of the Season 4 premiere on Oct. 16.
\n\nStallone’s daughter Scarlet Rose Stallone, who has played Spencer on all four seasons of the show, has been promoted to series regular. Plus, four fresh faces are joining the cast in series regular roles: Erik Palladino (“I Play Rocky”), Glenn Fleshler (“Billions”), Anthony Skordi (“The Last Frontier”) and Nickola Shreli (“Power Book IV: Force”).
\n\nVariety reported in June that a writers’ room for a potential Season 5 had opened, with plans to relocate the production to New York. Stallone’s character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi, is originally from New York before he was exiled by his mob associates to Tulsa. Season 5 will see him returning to his mafia roots.
\n\nThe move is also driven by budgetary considerations. Thanks to recent improvements to the state tax incentive, New York is now one of the most cost-friendly places to shoot in the world, with film and TV projects flocking to the state.
