During this NFL offseason, Travis Kelce marked one item off his wish list: marry Taylor Swift.

“It was a fun offseason, man,” Kelce told reporters on Wednesday, as he returned to the practice field ahead of his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs. “Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”

Kelce and Swift married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in an emotional ceremony officiated by Adam Sandler. Swift’s brother Austin Swift served as her man of honor while his brother Jason Kelce was his best man; Kelce’s four nieces were the flower girls. Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts, Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff, Tom Hanks, Zoë Kravitz, Steven Spielberg, AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid were among their approximately 1,000 guests, representing a who’s who of the entertainment and sports worlds. Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw reportedly performed at the reception, and the groom rocked the mic as the party turned into a star-studded karaoke session with luxury raffle prizes (including luxury handbags and a 1970 Chevrolet Corvelle) and other party games.

“It was a crazy night,” Kelce added. “It was full of a lot of celebration.”

The NFL star also shared that it was his “childhood dream” to go to Madison Square Garden. “I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the [New York] Knicks were rocking,” he said. “My wife went when I was stuck in training camp. I didn’t get my opportunity to go then.”

While Swift sat courtside as the Knicks completed the largest comeback in NBA Finals history, it’s safe to say Kelce’s first trip to MSG was just as epic — perhaps even more so, considering the fact that they pulled off an intimate ceremony despite endless media speculation.

“It was cool to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues,” Kelce said. “To be able get married there. I thanked the owners of MSG for allowing us to get the opportunity to do that, knowing that we wanted a private event, and it was perfect.”

Kelce and Swift went to great lengths to keep their romantic ceremony private, sending digital invites watermarked with guest names and bundled with NDAs barring them from revealing information about their attendance in advance. But after the romantic ceremony concluded — and digital signs outside of Madison Square Garden displayed “JusT&T Married!” when the couple said “I do” — guests have shared their recollections of the dreamy celebration.

“It did not look like Madison Square Garden,” AMC CEO Aron wrote in a since-deleted post, describing how the couple transformed the arena into a fairytale-inspired garden. “A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat.”

Wedding guests took home touching keepsake: an ivory handkerchief featuring a stitched monogram of Swift and Kelce’s first initials, and the lyric, “So it’s gonna be forever …” from Swift’s 2014 hit song “Blank Space,” which Kelce has said is his favorite from her massive discography.

The NFL tight end and Grammy-winning pop superstar’s whirlwind romance began after Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on July 8, 2023. Kelce famously tried to give Swift a homemade friendship bracelet featuring his phone number, but when he failed at meeting her backstage, he shared his disappointment on his “New Heights” podcast. After being encouraged by friends and her mother Andrea to give Kelce a chance, the two began dating, and on Sept. 24, 2023, Swift made her first appearance in the stands at a Chiefs home game.

Now, three years, hundreds of Eras Tour shows, and one Super Bowl win later, the happy couple are embarking on a new era — one of wedded bliss.
