MIAMI — A federal judge on Wednesday denied bail for Andrew and Tristan Tate, the “manosphere” influencers who’ll now have to remain behind bars in Florida while fighting extradition to the United Kingdom on dozens of sex crime charges.
\n\nThe brothers failed to show they were not a flight risk, a danger to the community or deserved special consideration for bail, U.S. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis ruled.
\n\n“Based upon the foregoing, I find that Respondents have failed to meet their burden to demonstrate that they do not present a risk of flight or danger to the community, or that special circumstances warrant their release,” Louis wrote.
\n\n“Respondents have failed to demonstrate that special circumstances here warrant relief.”
\n\nDefense lawyer Joe McBride said his clients were being unfairly pre-judged and held to standards unfamiliar to Americans.
\n\n“Detention first. Evidence later, maybe,” McBride said in statement on Wednesday.
