Philadelphia police asked for the public’s help to find a man wanted for assault who donned a Chucky-style horror mask and “made threatening comments” while chasing a woman near City Hall, officials said Tuesday.
\n\nThe strange-but-terrifying incident unfolded at about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday last week when a 40-year-old female jogger in athletic wear “was chased by a masked offender” near 1500 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Philadelphia police said in a statement.
\n\nThe mask -wearing offender held a phone in front of her and repeatedly asked, “Are you ready to die?” police told NBC Philadelphia.
\n\n“The offender made threatening comments as they approached causing the complainant to stumble and sustain injury,” according to the police statement.
\n\nThe masked person was last seen ducking into SEPTA’s Suburban Station.
\n\nPolice believe the masked offender is a male that is about 5-foot-8 and between 16 and 20 “wearing a white baby doll style Halloween mask with black hair, and a black/blue plaid backpack,” according to the statement.
\n\nInvestigators released video footage and still images of the suspect.
