Duncan Sheik, the singer behind hits like the Grammy-nominated “Barely Breathing,” has been hospitalized and is currently receiving medical treatment, per a statement shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday.
\n\n“We would like to share an update with Duncan’s fans and the public,” the statement read. “Duncan is currently receiving medical care and remains in critical but stable condition. Out of respect for Duncan and our family, we will not be sharing any further medical details at this time.”
\n\nThe statement concluded: “We kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time and will provide updates when appropriate. Thank you for the continued love and support.”
\n\nAccording to Sheik’s social media, he has been in and out of the hospital — earlier this month, the singer shared a post with the caption “Sorry for the selfies. But I’m still bored in hospital.” On Aug. 20, he posted a photo with the caption “I would prefer to be home making music. But a bit of reflection is not too bad … boring hospital stays have their benefits (outside the obvious).”
