Starz released the trailer for “S.W.A.T. Exiles” series, which premieres Sept. 25. New episodes air weekly on Fridays.
\n\nA spin-off of the hit show “S.W.A.T.,” the new series sees Shemar Moore reprise his role as LAPD S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. After a botched raid ends in a death, Hondo must walk away. His old commanding officer, Robert Hicks (Patrick St. Esprit), offers him a chance to create a new S.W.A.T. unit built from LA’s most talented rejects.
\n\nJoining the squad of rejects are gun-show influencer Sammy Bishop (Lucy Barrett), socially awkward tactical savant Ethan Cole (Freddy Miyares), the guarded Cassidy Reed (Zyra Gorecki), wildcard Jude Callan (Ronen Rubinstein) and ambitious Malik Anderson (Adain Bradley). Original cast members Jay Harrington and David Lim also make their return.
\n\nAs the Exiles begin taking on volatile threats in Los Angeles, Hondo begins to uncover a threat from within: someone inside the unit has been feeding information to outside interests.
\n\nThe “S.W.A.T.” reboot premiered on CBS in 2017. The show was originally canceled after its sixth season, but eventually brought back for what was meant to be its seventh and final season. The show returned for an eighth season and was canceled again.
