Nimesh Patel‘s Netflix special has been given a title and release date.
\n\n“Buy the Dip,” an hour of stand-up comedy, will debut on the streamer on Sept. 22. In what’s described as a “no-punches-pulled special,” Patel covers the “absurdity of parenting, the insanity of his Indian family and the rampant corruption in D.C.”
\n\nIn a clip released by Netflix, Patel jokes about Kash Patel, saying he is “the first Indian director of the FBI,” which means “he is also the last Indian director of the FBI.”
\n\n“He’s too short to lead the FBI,” Patel quips. “You can’t be five-seven and in charge of finding missing people. How about you find the rest of yourself first? … Up next on Kash’s most wanted: legs.”
\n\nThe special was filmed at the Lincoln Theater in Washington, D.C., across four shows in April. It marks Patel’s one-hour stand-up debut on Netflix. Mookie Thompson directed “Buy the Dip” and executive produces alongside Patel, Daniel Powell, Alex Bach and Natalya Yonathan.
\n\nNetflix originally licensed a different special from Patel titled “Instant Karma,” which was set to debut on April 1, 2025. But on that day, Variety reported that Netflix would not be debuting “Instant Karma,” instead…
