Michael Mann was hospitalized on Saturday after he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a Los Angeles gun range, according to the L.A. Police Department.
\n\nThe director was trying to holster a firearm during a target practice at a sanctioned gun range when the weapon accidentally went off, as first reported by TMZ. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the Range L.A., and LAPD confirmed he was in stable condition at the time of the call. Mann has been an experienced shooter who has practiced on ranges for decades, and his wound was described as “subcutaneous and minor,” according to his reps.
\n\n“On Saturday, at a gun range, a weapon accidentally discharged while holstered resulting in a superficial injury to film director Michael Mann. He was treated and is being released,” Mann’s reps said in a statement.
