\n\nPennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro thinks he’s figured out the path forward on data centers as part of an evolution that’s caught both detractors and some allies by surprise.
\n\nThe governor has gone from touting the benefits of data centers to arguing his administration is cautiously overseeing their growth, especially after signing an executive order last month mandating that data center developers adhere to standards he introduced earlier this year that were, initially, voluntary. In an interview with NBC News, the Democrat — and potential 2028 presidential candidate — argued that skipping the pause many in both parties are advocating for and going straight to policy is the path forward.
