Sen. Darline Graham defeated Rep. Ralph Norman in South Carolina’s Republican Senate primary runoff.

The National Capital Planning Commission, the group tasked with reviewing major construction projects across the Washington area, has a new leader.

\n\n

Mark Paoletta was named at-large commissioner and chair by Trump today, according to the NCPC. It's a six-year term. He replaces Will Scharf, who is taking the helm of the White House counsel’s office.

\n\n

Paoletta will have a lot on his plate, including final approval of the Memorial Arch site, Lafayette Square security improvements and plans for the potential White House Visitors Center.

\n\n

Paoletta is also the general counsel of the Office of Management and Budget and the acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

\n\n

A judge today suspended criminal charges against a former U.S. Marine arrested at Trump’s Los Angeles-area golf course with ammunition and a gun in his vehicle. He is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
