New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart will miss the rest of the season after he undergoes surgery on his left knee, Giants coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday.
\n\nWhile Harbaugh said Dart will miss the regular season, he did leave open the possibility of him coming back for the playoffs.
\n\nThe second-year quarterback sustained the injury in the first quarter of the Giants’ 28-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday. Dart was attempting a pass on third-and-8 when he was sandwiched between multiple defenders, and a Rams linebacker collided with his left knee.
\n\nDart, 23, was the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He began his rookie season as a backup to Russell Wilson, but became New York’s starter after an 0-3 start to the season.
\n\nIn 14 games and 12 starts, Dart completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards during his rookie season, throwing 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran for 487 yards and nine scores.
\n\nDart’s aggressive style of play has been a concern at times, however. He missed two games during his first year because of a concussion and was subjected to several other concussion checks throughout the season.
