Elon Musk has quietly financed a major canvassing operation to help Republican candidates in the midterm elections that rivals his effort in the 2024 presidential election, according to federal filings posted Thursday night. \n\nThe Musk-aligned America PAC has spent $76.7 million in the third quarter of 2026, $35.8 million of which has been spent on a field operation to drive turnout among President Donald Trump's core base across all seven Senate battleground states and a number of House races, the filings show.
\n\nThat compares with the roughly $45 million America PAC had spent on putting together a field operation at the same point in the 2024 cycle, when the super PAC effectively ran the vast majority of canvassing for Trump's presidential campaign.
\n\nIn short, Musk has assembled a presidential-level field operation this midterm cycle, underscoring the extent to which he has taken over the get-out-the-vote effort for the party and created something of a shadow Republican National Committee. With three weeks until Election Day, the total contributions are only set to rise even higher.
