A 31-year-old man has been arrested following a manhunt for the person responsible for pushing a mother to her death from a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx as she was holding her 8-month-old daughter.
\n\nThe NYPD tracked down Angel Carrasco late Wednesday night, hours after identifying him as the prime suspect in Nathaly Ramierz’s death. Investigators said the 23-year-old mother was holding her daughter when she was shoved from the balcony on Olinville Avenue in Allerton early Tuesday. Both plunged to the ground.
\n\nRamirez was pronounced dead at a hospital. The baby girl was taken there as well and was still in critical condition as of Wednesday. Authorities believe her mother’s body may have cushioned her fall.
\n\nOfficials said Carrasco was hiding out at a friend’s house when police caught up to the suspect. He faces charges of murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, attempted manslaughter and assault.
\n\nPolice were reviewing surveillance video as part of their investigation. The video shows a man walking away in a hooded sweatshirt as police responded to the scene, police sources said.
\n\nSources said there was a history of domestic violence at Ramirez’s address, and police were looking to question her ex-boyfriend after the deadly incident.
