Alert the ton: There’s about to be another “Bridgerton” series. Netflix and Shondaland announced Thursday that the streamer has ordered a new limited series spinoff in the “Bridgerton” universe, this time focused on a young Lady Violet.
\n\nThe series doesn’t have a name yet, and is being referred to right now as the “untitled Bridgerton project.” But Netflix said the rollout will be similar to previous “Bridgerton” spinoff “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” so it would seemingly make sense for it to eventually be called “Lady Violet: A Bridgerton Story” — but that’s TBD.
\n\nShonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini, who was a producer on “Queen Charlotte” and a writer on Rhimes’ hit ABC series “Scandal,” will serve as showrunners, writers and executive producers on the new show.
\n\nFrequent Rhimes collaborator Tom Verica, whose credits include “Bridgerton” and “Queen Charlotte,” as well as “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal,” is set to serve as director/executive producer. And longtime Shondaland creative partner Betsy Beers is executive producer as well.
