The official trailer for Apple TV’s “Brothers” just might confirm that lifelong pals Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are actually related.
\n\nThe “True Detective” co-stars rejoin forces as fictionalized versions of themselves who uncover this decades-old secret. After Harrelson’s daughter’s wedding ends in disaster, he goes to stay at McConaughey’s, and they soon find out they might be brothers. Harrelson grapples with this revelation while McConaughey finds himself juggling an entirely different identity crisis: a potential run for Governor of Texas.
\n\nThe show is based on real life developments in McConaughey and Harrelson’s friendship. There have long been rumors that the pair might be related. “I don’t know because we haven’t done the testing,” Harrelson told Esquire magazine. “But I can say that there’s a lot of almost insane coincidences. His mom had a relationship with my dad right around the time he was conceived. That seems like a big coincidence.”
