“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson had plans to adapt the second book in the popular “Jack Reacher” series for the Prime Video show — before a certain “someone” got re-elected, he wrote in a comment posted to Threads on Friday.
\n\nResponding to a user who wrote that “every year I’m sad to learn that next season won’t be the book where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp,” Ritchson explained that the novel (titled “Die Trying”) is his “favorite book.” “Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.”
\n\nThe thriller novel by author Lee Child was originally released in 1998, and as the comment suggests, follows Jack Reacher and a politician’s daughter as they are abducted by a radical militia to be used as leverage in political negotiations.
\n\nWhile Ritchson didn’t call out a politician by name, he has been outspoken about Trump and his disapproval of the politician in the past. On an episode of the “Happy Sad Confused With Josh Horowitz” podcast, the actor spoke about the Epstein files and Trump, saying “That b-tch has the keys to the nuclear codes… He’s like all up into the 13-year-olds. Like dude, go to jail.”
