Two science-fiction series produced with generative AI, “Space Nation” and “Kira,” will have the world premieres of their pilot episodes at TV market Mipcom, which takes place next week in Cannes.
\n\nBoth shows are produced by Ex Machina Studios and are being sold worldwide by K5 Intl.
\n\nThe companies told Variety that, to their knowledge, it is the first time fully produced AI-generated series episodes – not concept reels or previews – have been screened for buyers at a major international market.
\n\nThe pilots screen for buyers on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 at the Cinéma Les Arcades, a short walk from the Palais des Festivals.
\n\n“Space Nation,” co-produced by Utopai Studios and Globoplay, was introduced to buyers for the first time at Mipcom last year. In May 2026, at the Cannes Film Market, Globoplay – the streaming service of Globo, Latin America’s largest media group – came on board as co-producer and acquired Brazilian rights, making the series a Globoplay Original.
