ABC has ordered a drama pilot that is based on the popular BBC One series “Ludwig,” Variety has learned.
\n\nThe pilot, which marks ABC’s first of this year, hails from co-writers Megan Ganz and Humphrey Ker, who are also executive producers. Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz also executive produce along with Kenton Allen of Big Talk, “Ludwig” creator Mark Brotherhood, and “Ludwig” star David Mitchell. 20th Television, where Ganz is under an overall deal, is the studio.
\n\nThe logline for the show states, “After his homicide detective twin brother goes missing, Mark, a reclusive puzzle writer known as ‘Rabbit,’ is pulled from his solitary life and thrust into the Cambridge, MA police department, where he poses as his brother to investigate his mysterious disappearance. But soon, Mark discovers that his uncanny ability to solve impossible puzzles makes him an unlikely crime-solving sensation.”
\n\n“Ludwig” originally debuted on BBC One in 2024, with its second season airing in 2026. A third season is currently in the works, as is a Christmas special. Along with Mitchell, the show also stars Anna Maxwell Martin as Lucy.
